Hey baby, you've got a cute mug!

So I'm thinking about starting a series of baby paintings. The first step (or one of, at least I think) in my artistic/ creative process is typically gathering images from which I get a certain "feel." Call it inspiration, or what have you, but from the images (and sometimes texts) that I gather, I make "collections." My terminology for them changes practically on a day-to-day basis-- mood board, collage, a folder with too many files, "musebook." At any rate, I want to post some of the cutest baby pictures I found on google as a sort of reminder to myself, as well as a way to mark the start of the series. I'll keep you updated as the series of paintings progresses! How adorable are they?!

Changes, Changes

Well kids, by the time I got around to designing the template for The Editorialist, the name and general gist of the site was already in business elsewhere. I'm in the process of figuring out what exactly I'd like to do with my life... besides have a wonderful husband, kids, money to support them & travel, opportunities to travel & volunteer abroad, etc. (childish dreams, really), but one way or another I'll get this (or a different site) up and running this summer!

I still love fashion, so don't get me wrong, I'm still me, I'm just thinking about my future plans is all. Perhaps I'll be a doctor.. or a lawyer... or a vet.. or a nurse, nutritionist, RD, journalist? WHO KNOWS.

I'll keep y'all posted.

EDIT: We'll just see where life takes me in the next few years. I'll work & continue school simultaneously. Let's see where I end up in a few years. Hopefully less stuck than I am now. Best wishes to you all!

Love always,
Belle

Metamorphosis

ATTENTION: The Naturale has a sister site!

This blog will {not} be moving to a new site, under a new name, with a new focus!
Instead, The Naturale's sister site has been born! You've waited quite a while for this... so here's the link to the new artistic periodical (also what I call a musebook)...

Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

I fully intended to have the remodel of The Naturale done by June 1st. But well.. it's the 4th, isn't it? One idea lead to another, and before I knew it I was swimming shoulder deep in the aftermath of the cascade of creative flow. Yes, Csikszentmihalyi (pronounced "Chick-set-me-high") was right. Flow is very much real, and very much a problem when it comes to me and fashion and getting things done. I get lost in time and before I know it it's June 4th. Where DID that time go, dang-it!

Never the less, The Naturale (or should I say ______) will be back, better than ever-- organized with completely new material, formatting, text and layout design, and polished with a completely new header, footer, side bars, photos, links, lists, and DAILY posts.

It. Will. Be. Glorious.

Grab Your Hardhats...

'Cause this is about to get pretty. {The Naturale} is under construction and will be back with new posts very soon! (EDIT: the remodel is taking longer than anticipated so it will debut in stages while posts continue regularly.)

Bringing Back the Black Slingback

(The Row Commercial by The Olsens, found on youtube)
Even though the spring season is most definitely underway, I'm currently pining for a pair of these heels. Fall trend or not, they've got a rockstar attitude with the subtlety of a breezy, laid back ride through the countryside. Needless to say, they kick serious butt, no matter the season.

Never too Late to Go Green

Happy belated Earth Day! Here's a little taste of what fashion had in store for Earth Day 2010.
"Manhattan-based designers Stephanie Doucette and Annebet Duvall have channeled vintage glamour into an environmentally friendly line of exquisite separates. Using repurposed fabrics in unique patterns and prints, this collection of dresses, blouses and skirts embodies the eco-aware approach without losing out on elegance. Standout pieces include the little green dress — a Doucette signature that gives a stylish nod to Mother Earth." - Gilt.com
