I know I missed the spring mark but It's been raining a lot these days, actually we've had more rain in June than any month yet this year... ridiculous. But, what better time to purchase the perfectly functional and yet stylish wardrobe asset, the rain boot (aka Wellies)!

Now this look can either look sloppy and just about as soggy as a magazine caught in a down pour, or it can actually look chic in a very London-esque sort of way, you just have to know how to pull it off. Personally, I would advise sticking with a solid color that is a neutral or classic color like black, navy, dark green, etc. But if you really crave a patterned rain boot, go for something cute but not too young-- ducklings are cute but let's face it, little animal cartoon prints are for the kiddies, so opt instead for checkered, plaid, or artsy flowers... you know, something along those lines.

And since it's summer time, why not pair them with a pair of frayed denim shorts and a drape-y/loose fitting/ oversized tee or sweatshirt. Fabulous, functional, and comfortable, all in one! Marvelous.
