Psychic Powers

Since I've been in college I've realized two important things about myself. One: that I can work on very little sleep, and constantly need to. And two: I can predict the future. I'm serious guys, I'm freakin' psychic. Well, my (sixth) sense of fashion is at least. Without any connections to the current mood of the fashion world, not a single glimpse of the runway, not a flip through a magazine, a click to a style site, or a toe-dip into surfing the TFS forums, I came up with my hit-list of the next trends and key points for spring and into the summer season. From what I gathered from my hours deep within the world of fashion during my spring break, I hit most of them pretty dead on.

The next few posts are going to be a series, each honing in on one of the trends that's on my spring Hit-List. The agenda:

Clothing

-beiges, nudes, creamy tans

-pastels in billowy, flowing feminine form (pinks, peaches, orchids, mints, banana yellow)

-floral patterns in tasteful moderation (50s inspired)

-bright fuchsia tops/ dresses

-high waisted drapey skirts

-safari inspired wear- the pocketed serengeti shirt, grassland greens and rich earthtones, gold accents

-light lace, victorian inspired romantic silhouettes

Jewelry/ Shoes/ Handbags

-Big artistic metals, designs specifically inspired by the garden and parisian filigree

-structural cuffs, earrings, and rings inspired by architecture and futuristic robotics, modern

-cowboy boots

-strappy sandals and bulky heels, some worn with socks

-camel, deep tan bags with lots of pockets and places to put things, the usually the bigger the better

Hair/ Makeup

-Fresh, soft shiny hair (classic)

-The high, straight pony-tail (business or a night out)

-Messy braid for long hair

-Soft, dewy skin, tinted lip color in a blue-hue pretty pink and gray smokey shadow for day

-Nails- bright colors, especially poppy & candy apple reds, corals, fuchsia;

pastels- bubblegum pink, mint green, lavender
